Betts topped MLB.com’s 2023 Postseason Player Power Rankings, which were released on Wednesday. In 152 regular-season games this season, Betts hit .307 with 39 home runs, 107 RBIs, a .408 on-base percentage, a .579 slugging percentage, and a .987 OPS. He led the offense as the “number one slugger” and helped the Dodgers win the National League West.
Ronald Acuña Jr. of the Atlanta Braves, who hit 40 home runs and stole 70 bases, came in second. In 159 games this season, he batted .337 with 41 home runs, 106 RBIs, 73 doubles, a .416 on-base percentage, a .596 slugging percentage, and a 1.012 OPS. He went a career-best 40-70 and helped Atlanta to the best winning percentage in the majors (.642).
Texas Rangers center fielder Corey Seager is third on the list. Freddie Freeman of the Dodgers, Matt Olson of Atlanta, and Bryce Harper of the Philadelphia Phillies rounded out the top four. Houston Astros “super ace” Justin Verlander was the highest-rated pitcher at No. 7, followed by Dodgers left-hander Clayton Kershaw at No. 9. Corbin Carroll of the Arizona Diamondbacks was ranked eighth and Luis Ares of the Miami Marlins rounded out the top 10.
