Former Chelsea and Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata has joined Japanese side Bisselgobe.
“We have signed midfielder Mata,” the club announced on its official website on Wednesday. Mata has been without a club since his contract with Turkkiye Galatasaray expired in July.
Mata was one of Chelsea’s first big signings. He joined Chelsea from Valencia in the summer of 2011 and immediately became a mainstay in the team. Playing primarily on the left wing, he moved between the flanks and the center to supply creative passes up front, and in his debut season alone, he scored 12 goals and provided 20 assists in all competitions. He assisted Didier Drogba’s dramatic header in the UEFA Champions League (UCL) final to win the title and was named Chelsea’s Player of the Season at the end of the season. 바카라
The following season, he combined well with new signings Eden Hazard and Oscar to lead the Chelsea attack. However, after the arrival of Jose Mourinho, he was relegated to the bench and opted for a move to Manchester United in the summer of 2014. He spent eight seasons at the club, putting in decent performances, but the years couldn’t hold him back, and he was released on a free in the summer of 2022, heading to Galatasaray.
Mata played mostly as a substitute for Galatasaray, fulfilling the role of a veteran in the team. That season, Galatasaray finally won the league title as they finished at the top of the Turkkiye Super Lig.
Heading to Biselgowe this summer. Until this summer, Visselgobe had a legendary midfielder in Andres Iniesta. With Mata heading to Visegovë, he’s effectively a replacement.
Speaking at the press conference announcing his signing, Mata said: “I’ve always been interested in Japan and I’m really happy to be here now. I’m looking forward to playing at a club where my old friends Iniesta and David Villa have played, and I’ve heard great things from my good friends Bojan Krkic and Sergi Sampere. I’m really looking forward to life and the challenges here,” he said, adding that he hopes to do well in Biselgowe.
